Wisconsin is home to 20,000+ insect species—the vast majority of which are considered beneficial. In this presentation, we’ll discuss the many ways in which insects help us out and also survey the commonest beneficial insects from the Midwest.

About the event

Patrick (PJ) Liesch is an Extension entomologist for the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a science communicator, and the director of the UW Insect Diagnostic Lab. PJ is an instructor of adult insect taxonomy at UW-Madison and also provides entomology-related outreach throughout the state of Wisconsin and beyond, including regular appearances in television, radio, and newspaper stories.
