About the event
Join us 2/16 at 7 p.m. as we welcome Mr. Dan Dieterich, Wisconsin Co-Coordinator & Leader, Stevens Point Chapter, Citizens Climate Lobby
Dan taught English at UWSP for 35 years, where he received awards for both community service and excellence in teaching. Since retiring, he has been a full-time volunteer for Citizens’ Climate Lobby, also known as CCL, for almost ten years now. He’s one of two people coordinating the work of the 6,600 Wisconsin CCL supporters and 20-some Wisconsin chapters. Here in Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District, he leads one of five chapters. It has grown to include over 600 members in Stevens Point, Wisconsin Rapids, and other parts of Portage and South Wood Counties.
Before joining CCL in 2012, Dan helped to found and lead the Green Team at Frame Memorial Presbyterian Church, The Interfaith Community for the Earth, as well as the Central Wisconsin Chapter of Wild Ones: Native Plants, Natural Landscapes.
He has long been a member of the Aldo Leopold Chapter of the Audubon Society and is proud of the many bluebirds that have fledged in the two birdhouses on his property as well as the pileated woodpeckers that have taken up residence in his woodland. He reports that he’s going broke feeding the various birds who come to his feeders in the style to which they have become accustomed.
This program is free and open to the public. Sponsored by Aldo Leopold Audubon Society www.AldoLeopoldAudubon.org
