Field Trip: Sunrise at Buena Vista

Join us for a fun, spring morning in the grassland on Sunday April 27! We will rendezvous at Artist and Fare at 7:00AM and head south from there. We will begin looking for lekking Greater Prairie-Chickens then move onto general birding. Late April in Buena Vista can yield an eclectic mix of bird life! Most of the sparrows will have returned, and waterfowl and shorebirds will still be migrating through. We may even be lucky enough to chance on a few early warblers or orioles! The trek will run several hours and we will mostly be driving the roads to explore the different habitats in the area. The roads may be muddy depending on precipitation levels leading up to the trek, rubber boots may be helpful.
