About the event
Kevin and Linda Grenzer, of Loon Rescue Inc., have been rescuing loons and other birds in need of help since 2013. This dynamic husband and wife duo specialize in rescuing loons all year long, including ice rescues. They have traveled hundreds of miles across the entire state of Wisconsin to rescue loons that are in need of help. They often encounter and have to deal with rescuing loons that are hooked, entangled, suffering from lead poison, stranded in small ponds, have been struck by boats or shot. They have many different techniques and equipment to safely capture these loons. All loons that they rescue are taken to the Raptor Education Group Inc. in Antigo for rehabilitation.
Join us for our September ALAS program as Kevin and Linda will share their many rescue stories and techniques they have accumulated over the past decade. They will also explain many ways of how you can help protect loons and what to do if you find a loon in trouble. This presentation is hosted by the Aldo Leopold Audubon Society, Central Wisconsin. Presentations are Free and Open to the Public. Live at Lincoln Center in Stevens Point or on Zoom. CLICK HERE to Register to receive presentation link.
