About the event
Randy Hoffman, a lifelong resident of Wisconsin with a 30-year career in the Department of Natural Resources, will present the May 19 program of the Aldo Leopold Audubon Society, based on his book When Things Happen. Randy has spent with nearly 30 years in the DNR’s State Natural Areas Program. He has authored two books, Wisconsin’s Natural Areas and When Things Happen. He is also the primary contributor to the DNR’s Wisconsin Important Bird Areas.
In his presentation, Randy will delve into the volumes of nature books available, including his own, When Things Happen. He will explore the intrinsic values of nature immersion and how nature is important to human well-being. He will draw our attention to the important birding areas to visit near Stevens Point and discuss the natural phenomena to expect in bird life and nature in May.
