Are you a young adult who spends a significant amount of your free time birding? Are you always noticing the birds around you, no matter where you are? Do you plan day trips or multi-day trips away from home to observe birds? Do you keep a life list and find yourself on a constant quest to add more birds to it?
If you’re between the ages of 18 and 35 (or you know someone who is) and are interested in being interviewed about your birding habits, what influenced you to become interested in birding, and what motivates you to pursue birding, please contact Sarah Wood at swood@uwsp.edu.
Sarah is a graduate student at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (and avid birder!) and board member for ALAS who wants to gain a better understanding of why young adults become involved in birding as a form of recreation. Your information could lead to the development of more specific curriculum and programs that could influence others to become interested in birds and conservation efforts to preserve habitat and save species.
Please Respond by October 31, 2025.
